How Do I Put This Puzzle Together?
Rob Spellman, Fannie Mae

Mortgage lending isn’t what it’s going to be.  Or, rather, what we’ve done for the last decade won’t work in the next.  Prime Alliance credit unions have everything they need to be out in front of every other lender for years to come.  During this session you’ll examine what you have and develop a high-level plan to put the pieces together.

Chris Stinebert, President, Manufactured Housing Institute

Entire affordable housing communities are being built using manufactured and modular housing. Many of these developments are sponsored by local municipalities that are eager to partner with local lenders. Mr. Stinebert will speak on manufactured/modular housing as an affordable alternative, community models that work and lending models to consider.

Thursday's Breakout Sessions
Note: Thursday’s break-out sessions repeat, so you won’t miss a thing

Piecing Together the Real Estate Puzzle

Members turn to those they trust when it’s their time to buy a home.  Shouldn’t that be your credit union?  For these panelists it is.  Learn how these credit unions have recreated their mortgage programs as real estate programs.  They’ll share how they develop and maintain relationships with real estate firms and agents that benefit everyone:  their credit union, their member and the agent.  Better yet, you’ll find out just how positive an influence their new approach has had on the credit union’s lending success.

Building a Construction Loan Program

Housing construction in the next ten years is likely to exceed that of the last ten.   You’ll need a robust construction loan program to compete in this market segment.  Practical design and implementation from a twenty-year industry veteran is what you’ll take home from this session.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Loan Servicing…

Loan Servicing, that process that takes over once the loan closes, will become one of the most important pieces of the purchase-money puzzle in the next couple of years.  Why?  It’s the key to a broad, deep and long-term member relationship.  You’ll leave this session understanding the servicing business as it it today, as it will be in five years and how your credit union can make it part of its mortgage strategy.

What’s in it for our Members – Turning Efficiencies in to Member Benefits

Prime Alliance credit unions are some of the most efficient lenders in the mortgage industry.  Here’s why it matters:  members pay less to finance their home purchases.  As a result of this session you’ll master the measurement of operating efficiencies and turning them in to member savings.
